Our hearts are full as we count down to this day. We can’t wait to celebrate surrounded by the people who’ve been part of our story from the start.

A “Match”, and then some

Two sides of a story, where one swipe changed it all.

HER SIDE:

Ashley’s Story

Let’s just say I was at a point in my life, where I wasn’t exactly looking for anything life-changing. Good conversation, a little humor, and proof that decent men still existed. After a few glasses of wine on a Friday night, Anthony appeared on my Bumble app..Despite the lack of photos, information and my better judgment, I decided to initiate the conversation...

From the start, I was skeptical but curious. I asked questions, teased relentlessly, and kept my guard firmly in place. And somehow, without trying too hard, he made it all feel easy. What I expected to be a passing distraction quietly became something that felt grounding, genuine, and surprisingly meaningful.

I tried to not fall fast, but fall thoughtfully. Completely taken by surprise, I found myself head over heels (don’t tell him) while still holding my feelings close. Anthony was patient, kind, and exactly who he said he was, no additional convincing required!

What followed were five years of laughter, growth, adventures and quiet moments in between. To a proposal, this moment now, and building a life together.

For a girl who decided at 30 to be authentically herself, loving Anthony showed me that the best chapters don’t come from searching harder, they arrive when you least expect them.

HIS SIDE:

Anthony’s Story

I joined Bumble with exactly two photos because… honestly, that felt like enough. If you know Ashley, you know that was in fact not enough, who matched with me and immediately started conducting a federal investigation. But from the first message, I knew I was in trouble in the best way possible.

Her questions were intense, but I kept up, until she hit me with “Write my name and today’s date on a piece of paper and take a picture holding it.”  A handwritten note with a selfie? It seemed like a lot of work for a guy who didn’t even have a pen in his apartment. But you bet your ass I found one.

From that first conversation, she was witty, sharp (but skeptical) and somehow made accusing me of being a catfish a hilarious game, and completely unforgettable.

One swipe turned into something real almost immediately. Six weeks later, during the summer of covid, I found myself temporarily “moving in with her” as I searched for a new apartment, little did she know, I wasn't going anywhere. Nearly five years later I was proposing. And now here we are, still laughing, still choosing each other, and somehow still finding pens when we need them.
